I am Steindór Þórarinsson ICF certified coach, but I also work as a marketing and website consultant. At ADHD Brainwave I will hafa various online courses as well as powerful coaching. I specialize in ADHD coaching to help individuals with ADHD take control of their lives and fully master their strengths. Along with that, I have special coaching for individuals with a creative mind, Creative Breakthrough which I base on my extensive experience in working around various creative jobs, e.g. with well-known musicians and DJs as well as newcomers to music, when it comes to promoting themselves, and holding big events.
WHO AM I?
I'm a rocker at heart, with ADHD that never slows down. I've struggled with alcohol and drug abuse, depression, and the challenges of ADHD, but I've also lived a life that many people only dream of. I have experienced many of my dreams come true, but my greatest experience and strongest weapon are life's challenges and working to achieve my dreams. Some projects have failed and I have learned more from them than from the adventures that happened.
My father was a legendary magazine publisher in Iceland and I grew up around magazine publishing and events. My mother was a respected leader in her field and I learned a lot from her when it came to thinking positively. Had the opportunity as a child and teenager to experience many things that few people had at that time, and had a very encouraging upbringing and learned through my parents that you should follow your dreams and have faith in yourself.
I also experienced seeing my father lose a business, but miraculously rise again. So I have varied and special life experiences. I have also seen ugly things around the drug business. but I am made and brought up in such a way that I am always ready to help others and people seem to open up to me without me even trying.
From 18 to 21 I was working around famous nightclubs and hanging out with friends in the music industry as well as dangerous men deep in the underworld. I was definitely living the "Sex, drugs and Rock & Roll" lifestyle, but then I hit rock bottom and went to therapy. After that, my mother gave me the book "The Secret" and my life took a U-turn. Being an entrepreneur is in my blood, and after reading that book, my passion for goal setting andself development began. But the book had just been published then.
I have accomplished many things in life despite my ADHD-related difficulties. I have worked and helped open radio stations, famous restaurants and nightclubs. I have done big concerts and club events. Among other things moved to Norway and helped open three busy and well-known restaurants, where I was, among others, Head chef. Quit that and started my own marketing and website company.
In 2021-2022, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I was hit hard. I lost close friends to suicide, saved a friend who was trying to take his own life, and worked around three restaurants where there was a very toxic employee who put a lot of pressure on me. I suffered from severe burnout and broke down. But then I made the decision to address my ADHD and make a 19-year-old dream come true. I took advantage of this rock bottom and valley I was in to kick myself back up on my own in May 2023. Lovely friends gave me the opportunity to work as a chef 60% of the time while I worked on my self.
It is the year 2024 which has definitely been one of my best years so far and I have become stronger mentally than ever before. I am working towards an ACC certification (Associate Certified Coach) from the ICF (International Coaching Federation)
At Mitt Hugskot, I use my life experience, education and knowledge to help others as I have helped myself. I have learned a lot from my struggles and failures. I was lucky to be raised not to let life's challenges get me down, but to take advantage of them, and always try to learn from them. That's why I like to help people look at themselves and be the best version of themselves.
No matter what, I always keep going because of my strong ability to use goal setting and have a clear vision of my goals. I'm in a place now where I'm surrounded by like-minded people and I know I'm able to help others see their potential as well as their strengths.
